About:

Nick Williamson is a Chicago-based artist and graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA, 2025). His work moves between painting, video, and digital media—using found images, cinematic framing, and personal memory to explore how people construct meaning from the visual noise of everyday life.

Since an early age, Nick has been drawn to YouTube, filmmaking, and illustration. Those interests shaped the way he approaches images today with an instinct for storytelling, timing, and emotional rhythm. His paintings often echo the logic of film editing: jump cuts, close-ups, and pauses that let small gestures carry weight.

Now, he's expanding that practice into professional creative work. Nick aims to build a career as an illustrator, storyboard artist, concept artist, production assistant, creative director, film director, actor, and animator. Across every medium, he's driven by the same curiosity to understand how pictures move people, and how stories come to life through image, sound, and performance.
